Scientists Urge Women To Stop Wearing Bras, Here’s Why

There is not a woman’s closet in the world without a diverse selection of bras in it. And that is because it’s what society demands. But currently, scientists say that you should stop wearing them.

Nothing should motivate you to put the bras aside more than the discovery that they can cause cancer. According to research, bras can cause malignant breast cancer as well as non-malignant breast fibrocystic disease.

Dr. Gragory Heigh has discovered that more than 90% of women experienced an improvement in fibrocystic breast disease after doing away with bras.

Women have even ended up getting lymph drainage damage after wearing bras too often.

Even though bras can improve the visual appeal of our breasts, most of us certainly did not sign up to get tumors in the process.

Bras and Gravity

Yet another groundbreaking discovery has found out that wearing bras has absolutely no benefit with regard to offering chest support, reduction of back pain, and prevention of sagging breasts. Apparently, being protected from the effects of gravity by a bra has no positive impact on the breasts.

If anything, “they get saggier with a bra.” This is according to Professor Rouillon while speaking to France Info.

The researcher did a 15-year study on the effects bras had on women aged between 18 and 35. In total, 330 women were involved in the study by the University of Franche-Compte professor.

Not wearing bras among young girls encouraged the growth of supporting breast tissue and muscle tone. Among the women who stopped wearing bras during the study, there was a significant 7-mm lift in their nipples as compared to women who regularly wore bras.

So, among women, not wearing bras will result in greater collagen production and elasticity, and that improves breast lift.

Therefore, if you were wondering what excuse you would use to finally stop wearing bras, then you have science on your side.

In addition to these studies, several others have found out that bras are not good for breast health.

For instance, a 1991 Harvard Study found that there was “half the risk of breast cancer” among premenopausal women who did not wear bras. The study was in the European Journal of Cancer and Clinical Oncology.

Another study running from 1991 to 1993 showed that women who did not wear any bras suffered the same breast cancer risk as men, which is another way of saying that they were 100 times less likely to get breast cancer than women who wore bras round the clock.

Yet another study discovered that there were 24 cases of breast cancer in a culture where women wore no bras, and all of them involved women who wore bras. The study was done in Fiji.

As recently as 2009, a Chinese study found out that sleeping without a bra lowered breast cancer risk by 60%. Another study in Spain found out that bras were leading to breast cancer and breast disease.

In general, bras with an underwire and push-up bras were most harmful, but any bras that left behind marks of indentations could lead to disease.
